Apr 2010: FASA merges with the NFA

We are pleased to inform you that following discussions between representatives of the NFA and FASA (Fireplace and Stove Alliance), agreement has been reached to merge the two organisations with effect from the 1st July this year.

The new organisation will be known as FASRA (Fireplace and Stove Retailers Association) and fundamental to its future will be its mandate as ‘an association run by retailers for retailers’.
The steering committee of the FASA welcome this merger as an important step forward in the presentation and representation of the views and concerns of retailers and are cooperating fully with NFA representatives to ensure the smoothest possible change over.

This will of course mean some changes to the services previously provided by the NFA and, in due course, the introduction of a new FASRA website, logo, showroom plaques, vehicle stickers, literature etc.

A single voice representing the interests of fireplace and stove retailers throughout Great Britain is, in our view, a far better way forward than having two organisations trying to do the same things and we believe the merger presents an important opportunity for dedicated independent retailers to enjoy real influence in our industry.

Sep 2009: Staverton Conderence Cancelled

Regretfully our first FASA conference scheduled for 27th September at the De Vere hotel, Staverton has been postponed.

We received a good response overall but had a lot of feedback telling us that the season has kicked off with a bang therefore many retailers are becoming extremely busy and are unable to close their doors for a day particularly in these difficult trading times.

This event is obviously an extremely important one and we want to make sure as many Members as possible attend so the steering committee has decided to reschedule for early 2010. We will of course keep you informed of the new date well in advance so you can get it booked in your diary.

Sep 2009: New Blood at FASA

FASA are pleased to announce Ian Pattle, Richard Picking, Michael Makris and Stuart Kane have agreed to join the steering committee. The appointment of these respected figures will ensure the views of retailers are central to the foundations of the Fireplace and Stove Alliance, said Graham Wyatt Chairperson FASA Steering committee.
